Description
Pandion haliaetus. While picking my way over slippery rocks, I happened to glance up and spot this laden Osprey heading straight for me. Luckily I was able to swing up the camera and gain focus on him before it was too late.

Description
Alcedo azurea. Taronga Zoo, Sydney. These guys are somewhat difficult to shoot in the wild, the closest I’ve gotten to the one near home is about 50m which is nowhere near close enough with this lens, thus the captive photograph.

Description
Watching lorikeets at a feeder is quite amusing. You get the initial game bird that flies down for a feed, followed by a couple more. Soon the whole flock starts to approach, but they seem to know how many birds can access the feeder at once and thus queue on the fence waiting thier turn.
